FEATURED on Style Me Pretty! The inspiration behind this stylized wedding shoot was a modern take on East meets West. The shoot took place at the award winning Seven Degrees venue in Laguna Beach, which provided the perfect backdrop with its clean, contemporary and geometric architecture. Soft white roses and green ferns were showcased in the floral arrangements incorporating the Pantone color of 2017 “greenery” and metallic copper was used as an accent color in both the decor with geometric shapes as well as the cake, which features hand folded origami paper cranes, a symbol of happiness, luck, and peace in Eastern culture. The bride modeled a soft capelet adorning a lace a-line gown with tiered skirt and the groom was dressed in a slim cut three piece grey suit.
We went to the beautiful Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills, CA for Tanya and Clint’s engagement session. The beautiful arching oak trees hidden behind in the canyons is definitely a gem. I always have a great time photographing at this location. It was love at first sight for Tanya and Clint 3 years ago when they met through some mutual friends on Queen Mary so it was fitting when Clint proposed to her on the Queen Mary where they first met. The three things Tanya says she loves about Clint are his sense of humor, the way his eyes smiles and most importantly a great listener. Clint loves how Tanya is selfless, strong spiritually and effortlessly beautiful. You can just tell how much they’re into each other based on the things they love about each other. Photographing these two were super fun because they were already so into each other that I only had to give minimal instructions. I can’t wait to photograph their beautiful wedding this weekend at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach, CA. I know they have been working really hard on all the details of their wedding. But for now, check out their beautiful engagement photos below!
Angela & Brian got married at the beautiful Seven-degrees in Laguna Beach, CA on New Years Eve! They started their morning by getting ready at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, CA in the morning and unlike most Southern California weather, it practically rained all day so in order to keep Angela’s dress dry, we went with our backup plan and photographed all the bridesmaids indoors while we braved the rain with Brian and his groomsmen for some outdoor photos. Despite the rain, we were still able to take advantage of all the different areas of the venue and create some beautiful photos of their wedding day. We had their first look at the beautiful staircase and a father-daughter first look in Studio 6. When the rain finally stopped for a brief moment, I was able to bring the entire bridal party outside for the bridal party photos just right before all the guests started arriving via shuttle.
The ceremony was located upstairs in The Terrace with a tented guests seating area while the entire bridal party braved the sprinkling weather. One of my favorite moments of the night was when Angela was just about to step out of the door to walk down the aisle with her father. Before the end of the night, we took Angela & Brian out for some night portraits before the New Years countdown began. Check out photo highlights of their day!
Emily and James got married at The Fig house in Los Angeles, CA. It was raining the entire morning of their wedding day but a miracle happened! the rain stopped just long enough for their photos AND their ceremony. I loved how everything came together for their wedding, from the venue down to the colors and their details. I’ve known Emily for about 20 years now so I am definitely honored to be their wedding photographer and capture this important new chapter for their lives together. Check out some of the my favorites from their day!
Check out this beautiful wedding at the La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. This wedding was too beautiful to not share so, as requested by my couple, I have left their names out of this blog post. The wedding was intimate and celebrated by their close friends and family. Check it out!
Portrait session at the Old Orange County courthouse and Irvine regional park! Sometimes when you meet people, you just know that they are going to click with you. Hayley and Giorgio was exactly that. Hayley originally contacted me for some portraits at the courthouse so that she can send photos to Giorgio when he gets deployed to Iraq. I suggested that we should go to Irvine regional park for some more portraits as well. I’m glad that Hayley took my advice and we ended up having a great time at both locations. I still remember asking Giorgio to spin Hayley for one of the photos and then realizing that they have really good form. Come to find out, that’s how they met! They were at a ballroom dance class together and they were partnered up because of their height. I went ahead and posted some of my favorite images from their session that day. Check it out!
Emily and James are engaged! We decided to have an urban style engagement session at the Los Angeles Arts District and the Griffith Observatory. I was excited for this session because of all the pops of color and architecture that I get to incorporate into their photos. Emily and James were both troopers walking with me everywhere for photos. I knew that Griffith Observatory was going to be busy but didn’t expect to walk through a sea of people when we got there but we still managed to get the photos we wanted there. Hope you guys enjoy their session and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in two weeks at the Fig House!
Check out some of my favorites from their session below!
Marcie & Tony married at the beautiful Villa Del Sol in Downtown Fullerton! The guys got ready the Hotel Fullerton while the girls got ready at the Villa Del Sol. The day couldn’t be more perfect for them. I know I can definitely feel the love from their family and friends as they all celebrated together. Check out some of my favorites from their wedding day!
Arun and Jocie are married in Altadena, CA! I remember when I first met them during consultation, you could already tell they were a perfect match for each other. They decided to get married at Arun’s parents private estate in Alta Dena at the top of a hill backed up against the National Angeles Forest. The view was just incredible and sun light at sunset was just too perfect. We started our day by meeting up Jocie at the Blo-Out Lounge in Pasadena and then at their parents’ house in Alta Dena. As you can imagine, the wedding is very intimate and their wedding ceremony was mix of Indian and American traditions which transitioned smoothly and they were given blessings by their close through poetry. When reception started, Jocie surprised Arun by serenading him to a love song! You can tell that Arun and Jocie have touched many of their family and friend’s lives because there were not 2 toasts but 6 toasts that night on just how awesome there are. Below is a highlight of their beautiful intimate wedding day! Check it out!
Check out the recent engagement session with Marcie & Anthony at the Santa Ana Metro Link station! In fact, they’re getting married tomorrow and I can’t wait to photograph them again on their special day. When I first met Marcie & Anthony, they were really into the vintage architecture and styling so I wasn’t surprised at all when they showed up in retro attire to match the station! It was Memorial Day so we pretty much had the entire station to ourselves. We spent time exploring the grounds and discovered all the beautiful spots such as the fountain, the lobby, and of course the tracks themselves. Although Anthony was a little nervous to start, they both relaxed soon into the session and were up for anything. As you can see in the pictures below, Anthony could not keep his eyes off his bride to be. It was a joy to be able to capture their love story and I am very excited to share their session with you!
